Bells of the Lakes handbell ensemble

Bells of the Lakes Auditions

Background Information

Bells of the Lakes is always seeking individuals with experience and interest in promoting the art, skill, performance and educational aspects of handbell ringing. Membership in Bells of the Lakes is by audition. In addition to active members, Bells of the Lakes maintains a list of substitute ringers, who are called on for rehearsals, performances, or tapings as needed. Getting to know someone over a long time is a great way to have a "gradual audition." With an ensemble like this, it's helpful to know that someone fits into our community personally, as well as musically.

Members of Bells of the Lakes are expected to attend rehearsals and concerts, arrange for substitutes when necessary, learn individual parts outside of rehearsal, participate in workshops and festivals, load or unload equipment for each event, provide their own formal and informal dress, and help with other organizational chores as specified by the group's officers.

Bells of the Lakes auditions are held annually during the summer months and are scheduled by the music director. Notices about audition dates are posted in the AGEHR Area VII newsletter, Clapper Chatter. To express interest in subbing or auditioning, please send e-mail to info@bellsofthelakes.org.
